More Christmas snippets!

This card is a variation on a snippets make from last week, I just cut lots of small squares, and laid them on the A6 card like a diamond patchwork, and added faux stitching. Then used the last few layers of the stacker topper I used on the card in my previous post - I hardly ever use all the layers of any decoupage/stackers on one card - always conscious of Mr Posties need for lower rate postage to fit a card thru the annoying skinny slot!!!

I really struggle to use A6 cards - I prefer larger Cards, and I am particularly into square cards at the moment. I find it easier to work with a larger space to decorate - what about you? Do you prefer big or small cards? This one doesn;t look quite right to me, but I'm not sure what's missing - all suggestions on a postcard please ....lol!!

I am entering this into Pixies Snippets Playground, cos everything on here is snippets, even the greeting was found lurking in my newly unearthed box of Christmas stuff! Also into Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge, cos the sentiment is one of my all time fave Christmas songs!

Happy crafting

  1. Terrific Deb - love that you spread out the decoupage :) And those little squares really are super. Like you, I mostly like square cards to work with. Like most of us, I started up with A6 cards (not much else to choose from in them days) - and still have a ton here to use.

Thought i should let you know that you are suddenly not available to easily leave comments on.

When i try to leave you a comment back after you have just left me one, I used to click on your name and either your blog would pop up or a screen that showed your name and I would look in the "About Me" section and your blog was listed there and I would click on it.

Now when i click on your name there is a screen that opens
that has no info about you or your blog, therefore no way to leave you a message easily.
I googled Debs Wills and found you.

Just thought Ii shold let you know!

You card is such a great use of snippets. You asked for any ideas...
I like your card as is...the only thing different I could think of what something that I saw at the Di's playground a couple of weeks ago...A lady arranged snippets on a piece of cardstock mat to fit the size of her card...then she ran them through an embossing folder. Then she mounted her topper on that. Basically it looks just like your card but the background appears to be one piece rather than snippets. It seems to helpt he topper sort of pop off the page.
Don't know if that is a helpful idea...but I am going to give it a go for using up small scraps!

  3. Great use of snippets - thanks for another lovely card for my CHNC challenge 188 - you could also enter this into my CHNC challenge extra for April - I'd love to see it there too. X

  4. Debs, I have to say I had the same problem as Scrappymoi about clicking your name to leave a comment. Had to hunt you on a bookmark section. I LIKE your card, but think the embossing after you had your pattern done would be effective too. But, truly - didn't see a thing wrong with it, as it is. Very effective use of your Christmas card! TFS
