My desk, as usual is a bit of a tip lol!!
Centre front on my scratch pad are some hearts I've been experimenting with - still can;t quite get the result I want - I'm stamping with distress Inks over an acrylic painted background, which has been heat set to ensure that it is dry, but the Distress Inks keep smudging :-( update - if you're interested in seeing the finished heart wall hanging, click here :-)
there's a scattering of stamps, my precious Ink Dusters - always in use! And you can see towards top right my box of Cosmic Shimmer Watercolours, which have also been used on the hearts.
Short and sweet today, as requested by desk-mistress Julia, so I'm off to do a bit of tidying, and crafting, and will visit desks later today
happy crafting
debs xx
Gorgeous shimmery effects with the hearts.

ReplyDeleteI've never had any luck stamping with Distress onto paint either. Might help to sand the paint back a bit to give the ink a key? Will now have to goa nd try it!! Happy WOYWW. Pam #21

ReplyDeleteLooked for the magazine in Sainsburys yester - no luck - might try Hobbycraft today instead, but scared I end up buying even more stash!!
Thank you so much for calling by - belated Happy WOYWW and a Happy Easter. Hugs, Di xx #51
Oh heck Deb, not much help there re the Distress - would think it needs something to stick to - would a light pat of those anti-stat pads help?
ReplyDeleteNice desk though, not messy, just busy.
Thanks for calling on me - Happy Easter - Hugs, Neet xx 1
That heart hanging is so pretty. Well done for sticking with it in spite of the problem. I haven't heard of ink dusters, must look those up. Thanks for visiting me, Debs. I don't think it is likely to be bikini weather any time soon by the look of the forecast. Have a good week anyway, keep warm and safe. xx Maggie #17
ReplyDeleteWell, those hearts turned out beautifully, didn't they?? So pretty and very vintagey (is that a word???). Cosmic shimmer sounds good...do they do makeup in it? Lol

Wow that turned out superbly, love what you did. Thanks for popping by! Take care my WOYWW friend. Zo 117
ReplyDeleteI find using distress ink on acrylic to be a total failure, I tend to use ranger archival ink better. I like your hearts and your creative space

Thanks for visiting
Distress ink can be a pain sometimes. It does smear on acrylic paint and I have no idea why!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful work desk!! Keep having fun!!

I tend to find it only smudges on certain surfaces. Canvas that's been painted is usually fine. I just tend to play and if it smudges, stamp over with another ink as the smudged layer just adds to the project. Your heart hanging is beautiful. I had a peek on the way here. I love the colours you've used and the flowers are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by already and Happy WOYWW

Ohhh Cosmic Shimmer Watercolours -- just the name alone makes me want to find out what those are! Nice to see someone else's creative desk! Love that you have the light from a window! Thanks for stopping by my blog and looking at my mess earlier!
ReplyDeleteThe hearts look lovely! Off to see the finished product now!

Love the hearts, its so annoying though, isn't it, when what you are working on won't do what you want it to! Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #144 xx
ReplyDeleteYour hearts turned out very pretty, love cosmic shimmer.
ReplyDeleteyou asked about domoinoes. I use the cream plastic ones as they are very smooth they take alcohol inks very well after the inking I stamp them with stazon and maybe a little gem or similar and some inka gold on the edges they make great brooches, several of us make them at the WOYWW crop last year.
have a great easte r
