Craft Room progressing!

So this was my desk yesterday You can see on my craft mat the MDF sign for my craft room, painted in blue acrylic.


I bought this at a show last year and, never having used MDF before, I  painted it without sealing it - big mistake! All the paint sank into the MDf and left me with a horrid mess, so I lost heart a bit and set it aside.

It's been sat on a shelf ever since just looking at me! I finally got around to researching how to paint MDF, sealed it with PVA and painted it again & voila!  I'll share the finished version in another post.

On the right is a scrapbook layout I've started, working on our hols from last year, and just above the layout some 12x12 I've set aside for future pages.

At the back is my trusty Cuttlebug and on the left my digital radio - I'm always singing along when crafting :-)


At the back on the right is a card I made with one of the lovely Tina Wenke stamps, of a hedgehog reading - I make tons of cards, and when they're finished they tend to get stored away in boxes, so I had the idea of displaying my favourite of the moment somewhere I could see it, so I get to enjoy them too!

    That is a desk filled with fun! Love the blue you chose for your words! Great hedgehog card in the background. I love to sing when I create (I am awful, but it is so much fun!!)

    Hi Deb, great space this week, took a good snoop! Music seems to go with creativity, I use my Ipod and docking station or the radio through th PC. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier today

    I like what you are doing with your Craft word, seems like everyone is getting their paints out. I haven't used Pva to seal, usually slap on a layer of gesso and then sand.

    Thanks for the reminder about the MDF. I have some to get started.
    I think we must be the last of the great Cuttlebug users as everyone seems to go to other machines. I do have others but still love my Cuttle.

    Hi Deb, so glad to see you give it another go with the sigh. MDF is a bit of a ****** untill you know how. Like Ann I have found that a couple of coats of gesso does the job then a very light sand down wipe, then straight on with the paint.Thanks for your visit. Mo x

    Hi Debs! Oh boy, am I glad you showed your sign, I have one tucked away somewhere to work on..once I manage to remove the unltra sticky bar code label!!

    Great looking desk. Had to enlarge the photo and had a good snoop around! Thanks for the tip regarding painting MDF! I have just been using multilayers of paint and that can get expensive! Vickie #28

    Hi Debs! Your desk shows a lot about your productions, but is still organised! Congratz for that :D

    I tried to display my favorite ATC of the time on my desk for a while, but they kept falling from the displayer, so I gave up :( Hope it don´t happen with your cards!
