This is my desk/dining room table today, stacked with leftover matchbox easel cards from last week, my Pro Marker colour chart, as yesterday I was working on samples for Saturday's class. The pile of samples for the class being buried under the big roll of paper on the right of the desk. Said roll having been used as backdrop to try to improve my photos for my DT samples - I am definitely no David Bailey!
The eagle-eyed amongst you might spot the tester pot of paint sitting in a little white box in the middle of the table - I am in the process of painting a papier mache box ready for decorating, only had to move it from the kitchen cos it was in the way of that important work aid - the kettle!!
Oh, did I mention that whopping great box on the left??? Full of other boxes hopefully awaiting altering and decorating - otherwise known as the place boxes in our house get
I thought I would share with you some of my DT work for the WOW! Embossing team, on the theme of Valentine's Day, as it's so close! These 2 were made using WOW! stamps and Embossing powders, and are gloriously girlie in red and pink :-) There is a men's Valentine's card too, but I will save that for another day :-)
Happy WOYWW everyone, and if you're not sure what I'm blathering about, hop on over to the wonderful Julia's blog, where you can snoop into lots of crafty desks around the world
Thanks for stopping by
Debs x
Oh, pretty cards, Debs - bet the blokes' one will be just as nice! It's funny you should mention about the cat fabric as someone already has earlier on in my comments. But I can't find any, I have looked. The only ones I've ever seen were twee and nasty. Only dogs seem to make it to smart fabric. And I have two mogs, so I'm quite keen to share the love...but to no avail as yet :D

Hi Debs,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hints on embossing. I was using a Craft pad from Stampin' Up and embossing stuff from them also. I will have a look around next time I go to a craft store. I'm so happy you mentioned this as I bought the stamp primarily with embossing in mind.
Your cards are very sweet. You've already seen my desk - yours is quite tidy compared to mine! ;-)
Hugs,
Kay
A box full of boxes eh Deb, you sure set yourself some jobs!! I saw the paint and thought you were about to consider redecorating....argh, and phew!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the dining table mats underneath it all? Take a leaf out of my book, and comandeer the corner in the bedroom! I live with a WILLIS and I persuaded him!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are fabulous, thanks for the embossing tips, Have a great week, Hugs May x x x
ReplyDeleteHi Debs! Lots going on here - so, you use a normal paint tester box for a start on paper mache boxes? Is that good old Dulux emulsion testers for example? Stroke of genius - would never have thought of that!
DeleteI'm a day late hopping back to say hi - must do better in future :( Di xx
Di, yes I'm experimenting with good old Dulux! Tips so far: need at least 2 coats; don;t use the brush in the tester pot, it's too big and really rubbish; use the 'shades of white' colours, they look much nicer than white and magnolia
DeleteHave fun!
Those little matchbox easel cards look amazing, love the valentine ones are lovely too, would love to come to one of your classes, i am in Kent tho, so a little to far to travel. I didn’t make it, to your crafty table, on Wednesday so doing my snooping today,
